Suz is our Project Coordinator and a skilled Driving Instructor.
With nerves of steel and the patience of a saint, Suz is an incredible instructor who helps our learners feel confident behind the wheel. She brings nearly 20 years of customer service experience from the Department of Transport, where she also worked as a driving assessor.
Since May 2021, Suz has been our dedicated Project Coordinator, and as a qualified driving instructor, she has logged over 800 instructional hours. Her expertise has helped at least 90 people successfully pass their driving tests and obtain their licenses.
April is our newest team member, assisting Suz with administration.
As a successful participant in our program, April passed her driving test with us in May 2024 and understands firsthand how life-changing getting a license can be. Grateful for the support she received as an independent minor through Young House and AYSA, she is now eager to give back to the community and help others on their journey to getting their licenses.
We’re grateful for our incredible volunteers who help our clients complete their logbook hours—Mike, John, Anne, Cam, and AJ. Their dedication makes a huge difference in supporting our learners on the road to getting their licenses!
Before retirement, Mike had a diverse career as a registered nurse and mental health nurse, along with experience in various other fields. Originally from the UK, he has called Australia home since the age of 17 and has lived in Albany since 2018. Previously a volunteer with the Wheels for Work Program, Mike is a valuable asset to our team, especially for clients who experience mental health challenges. His expertise and compassionate approach make a real difference in supporting our learners.
Before retirement, John served as a police officer and now lives in Kendenup. He currently drives a school bus and is available to assist our clients in the Mount Barker and Kendenup areas. His experience and local knowledge make him a great support for our learners on their journey to getting their licenses.
